Srinagar, June 05 (KNO): Private Diagnostic Centers Association Jammu and Kashmir (PDCAJK) Friday alleged that the district authorities are harassing and sealing their centers which has resulted in immense issues for the patients including those in need of dialysis and other important examinations.
President of the Association Umar Iqbal Dhar said that number of complaints were received from across the Kashmir about the sealing of centers.
Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Umar said that the government on one side is forcing them to resume the work but on the other hand their centers are being sealed without any justification.
“Government has directed us to resume the work without any delay but the local administration is not cooperating with us at all. Number of complaints from different parts of the valley were received that Tehsildar's have sealed the centers after patients who visited there tested positive for the virus,” Umar said. “If a patient proves positive days after visiting us that is not our fault.
We are helping government at this point of time and over 70 per cent of rush of the patients is catered by private health centers across the valley. The authorities should know that all the centers have earned great amount of respect for their work and sealing the center brings defame and downgrades our reputation earned from years now.”
Umar said if any pregnant lady or patient turns positive after visiting any of private clinic, authorities should not seal the entire complex, rather the section should be sealed and the concerned must fumigate the particular section.
He said amid this pandemic on ground level, the Tehsildar's and non-medico professional's without knowing the norms have shut many private centers across the valley leaving the poor people and patients in need of various important examinations in a tremendous duress and tension.
Umar said that diagnostic centres have sought intervention of higher authorities into the sealing of centers across Kashmir—(KNO)
